Questions people ask
before they reply.
Mostly variations on “what’s the catch”, which is fair. Here are the straight answers.
Why would you make something for free?
Because it’s a better pitch than a cold email, and cheaper for us than running one. Making one piece costs us an afternoon. Winning a client the usual way costs far more than that in calls and proposals that go nowhere.
There’s no catch attached. You’re not signing up for a trial and you’re not on a list.
What’s the actual catch?
There isn’t one, but here’s the honest version: we only make spec work for businesses we’d genuinely like to work with. If you like it, we hope you’ll ask for more. If you don’t, you keep it anyway and we move on.
Do I own what you send me?
Yes. It’s yours to use wherever you like, for as long as you like, with no licence to renew and nothing to pay later.
The one thing we ask is that we can show it in our own portfolio. If you’d rather we didn’t, say so and we won’t.
Can you do video and the website together?
That’s the point, and it’s usually cheaper than commissioning them separately. An ad that works sends people somewhere — if that page is slow or confusing, the ad just bought traffic for a bad experience.
If you only want one of the two, that’s completely fine. We’ll say so if we think the other half is the actual problem.
How long does it take?
A first cut of a video lands within a few days of us starting. Revisions turn around faster than that — usually the same day.
A website redesign is a couple of weeks from go-ahead to live, depending on how many pages and how quickly copy gets approved.
Do you use AI to make this?
Yes, in parts of the process, and we’d rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise. It’s what makes the turnaround possible at this price.
What AI doesn’t decide is what the work says, how it opens, or what gets cut. Those are the decisions that separate work that lands from work that merely exists, and they’re ours.
Do I need to send you footage or assets?
Not for the spec piece — we work with what’s already public: your site, your socials, your photos.
For paid work, whatever you have helps. Phone footage is fine. If you have nothing, we’ll tell you upfront what that limits.
What if I don’t like it?
Then nothing happens. You don’t owe us anything, there’s no follow-up sequence, and we won’t email you again unless you ask us to.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Small and local businesses that sell something people choose with their eyes — where a good thirty seconds, or a page that finally makes sense, moves the needle more than another leaflet does.
Where are you based?
Ireland. We work remotely, so we’re not limited to one city — but we’re in the same time zone and you’ll get a reply the same day.
How do I get one?
Email info@gapline.ie with the name of your business, or use the form on the contact page. That’s the whole process.
Let’s make you something.
Tell us the business. We’ll make a short video or a redesign of one page — free, no meeting, no obligation to do anything with it.
